Would buying each volume individually bypass this issue entirely? I dunno.Īpologies if I've broken any rules. I don't know if there's a readily-available completely unchanged version of the original manga in the U.S. The main two editions I've been looking at were the 2017 three-volume hardcover box set, and the recent 2023 one-volume hardcover 'fully-compiled' edition. For what it's worth, I can live either with or without lesbian robot sex in my manga, I just want something as close to the author's intended vision as possible. The Ghost in the Shell Deluxe Complete Box Set collects the entire manga series in three oversized hardcover volumes then tosses in a collectible lithograph by creator Shirow Masamune to sweeten. I don't know to exactly what degree, and I don't know which editions are more or less egregious. The Ghost in the Shell Deluxe Complete Box Set collects the entire manga series in three oversized hardcover volumes then tosses in a collectible lithograph by creator Shirow Masamune to sweeten. However, upon looking online, it seems there are some concerns over censorship. I've been looking to get into the Ghost in the Shell manga for a while now, ever since the movie became one of my favorite films of all time.
